5 Element Arts - The Kitchen Witch Chronicles

Witching

Calling oneself a witch is not something a woman has had the luxury of

in our collective history.

Why would one want to label themselves witch

when the world view is far from accurate?

To change the world view.

To own a truth there is no denying.

+

I’ve lost friends just because of the word witch.

“Why can’t you call yourself something else?”

Because I would be continuing

to hide my truth to make you more comfortable with me.

I am the same person with or without the word that makes you fear me.

+

Is it a religion?

Wicca is a religion.

I am not Wiccan.

I am not a ceremonial-dress-up-goth-read-someone-else’s-words witch.

I am a kitchen witch.

+

Coming out of the closet is scary

for any person owning their truth

in the face of discrimination, persecution, or simple avoidance.

+

I am a lifetime student.

I ache to learn.

I am a researcher. A listener.

+

I am intuitive.

I know when you are thinking about me.

+

I have an affinity with all things kitchen.

I can taste with my mind.

All aspects of cooking come naturally and easily.

+

I am old-fashioned.

I use a spinning wheel.

 I create with fibers.

Knit and sew and weave.

+

I know plants from somewhere deep inside of me

that doesn’t come from books.

I know what to do with my hands in the soil.

+

I pay attention to the winds.

The directions.

Deeper meanings.

+

I look down during the day.

The variety of plant life below my bare feet.

I look up during the night.

The span of stars in the sky.

The patterns, the attractions.

What I seek each time.

+

I am a healer.

I am sensitive.

I can feel your energy.

I know about your sore knee or your heart ache.

+

I am strong.

I feel the past.

I see the future.

I hear the ghosts.

+

I feel blessed.

I send blessings.

I honor.

I remember.

+

I am now.

I am.

Earth

Air

Fire

Water

Spirit

+

I work to honor and appreciate nature and the energies that rule our earth,

using my hands and heart to create in the kitchen, garden and home.

+

Still scared of me?
